Janier Barton
(She/Her)
I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate and licensed clinical addictions specialist associate with a strong background in healthcare and trauma-informed care. In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a practicing dentist with over two decades of experience and the longtime owner of a dental practice, which has shaped my whole-person, compassionate approach to healing. My dual background allows me to understand how trauma, stress, and systemic challenges can affect people on every level.
As a former military spouse, I have personal insight into the complexities military families face and I’m passionate about supporting military spouses and others navigating major life transitions. I work with women carrying the weight of complex trauma, substance use, grief, sexual trauma, and identity-related challenges. I have a particular interest in supporting women through midlife transitions, including the emotional, relational, and physical shifts that often arise during this stage of life. My work invites space for women to reconnect with themselves, reimagine identity, and move through periods of change with compassion and clarity. I also have experience supporting women impacted by incarceration and system involvement and honors the strength it takes to heal in the face of layered adversity.
My approach is relational, person-centered, trauma-focused, and culturally responsive. Incorporating principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build emotional flexibility and align with their core values. I bring a holistic lens to therapy, integrating clinical training with a respect for spirituality, intuition, and the inner wisdom each person carries. I honor each person’s truth—whoever they are, however they come, and however they show up in the world.
I am also EMDR trained and offer a safe, affirming space to explore healing at your own pace.
